Meriden Vitale is a writer, filmmaker, and collage artist inspired by found materials. She holds an MFA in poetry from Oregon State University where she was a graduate research assistant and wrote for the College of Engineering.
She is the author of the chapbook Ranger Danger (Meeting Place Chapbooks, 2023) based on her time as a fire lookout. Her poetry and collages have been published in Gulf Stream, EQUINOX, The Quarter(ly), 45th Parallel, and Beaver Magazine and her short films have screened at film festivals throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Born in Hawaii, she came to consciousness in Sicily and grew up in Virginia. Formative career experiences include working for the Forest Service in Oregon and Washington and the Peace Corps in Ukraine. She currently lives on the Olympic Peninsula.
